Matthew Erwin, President
North State Gardens was founded in 1982 by David Erwin who brought to the business decades of expertise and a reputation as an expert landscape designer and contractor. After earning a BS in Industrial Engineering from NC State University, David’s son, Matthew, joined the company full-time in 1992. Matthew learned first-hand every aspect of the business and eventually moved into management. He is a North Carolina Licensed Landscape Contractor, North Carolina Licensed Irrigation Contractor, an ICPI Certified Installer of Interlocking Pavers, and a certified Segmental Retaining Wall Installer.
Over the years, North State Gardens has become a team of highly knowledgeable and experienced professionals who can meet the needs of the most discerning residential and commercial clients. We are known in the Wilmington area for our quality, dependability, and dedication to upholding the highest standards of workmanship in everything we do.
